The Miniature Schnauzer, the smallest of the Schnauzer breeds, is a healthy, long-lived, and low-shedding companion. With its outgoing personality, portable size, and sporty appearance, it's an ideal family dog. These stocky, robust dogs stand 12 to 14 inches tall and were bred down from Standard Schnauzers. They have a charming, human-like expression with their bushy beard and eyebrows. Miniature Schnauzers come in three color patterns: salt and pepper, black and silver, and solid black. Originally farm dogs and ratters, they are tough, muscular, and fearless without being aggressive. They are bright, friendly, trainable, and make great watchdogs while adapting well to apartment life.
